As a Shift Leader, you are responsible for ensuring the Menchie’s experience is upheld every day in the store by the entire team. You oversee all store operations, team development, implementing policies/procedures, and running a profitable business. You must lead your team and treat them as your guests. Ambassador, guest focus, camaraderie, courteous communication, and wisdom are core competencies expected to be followed. You are to report to your franchisee regarding the day-to-day business operations as requested.
Certified Food Handler Manager Certification Required:
You must either currently hold a valid Certified Food Handler Manager certification or be willing to obtain it as part of your leadership role. This ensures compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, and educating the team on proper food handling procedures.
Your roles and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Embrace the culture of Menchie’s by upholding the Menchie’s vision, mission, values, 3Ps, and be a positive role model to the entire team
- Know all team member and shift leader duties and positions
- Ensure the team is delivering the 5Gs to all guests
- Teach the leadership team how to perform guest recovery for unsatisfied guests
- Handle difficult guest situations with care and professionalism
- Uphold and administer all food safety standards and operational procedures, ensuring the team follows food handling guidelines
- Maintain a clean store and ensure compliance with health codes
- Ensure the team is following all food safety and cleaning procedures
- Ensure leadership team uses proper deployment practices
- Oversee all ordering and inventory systems
- Control cost of goods sold to reach targets
- Maintain quality food products and ensure all products are available to guests
- Keep all equipment properly maintained
- Educate, coach, and develop the entire team on operational standards and food safety
- Resolve any team issues promptly
- Support human resources and uphold local policies
- Create and post the schedule in a timely manner
- Control labor costs to reach targets
- Implement promotions and drive results
- Uphold and implement proper cash handling standards and procedures
- Manage cash responsibly, ensuring deposits happen daily
- Ability to work any shift, if needed, with a particular focus on daytime shifts
- Balance floor time with office duties
- Hold team accountable for time and attendance, and oversee the shift change system
- Communicate availability requests received from team members
- Request a shift off in advance. Changes in availability must be approved by the franchisee
- Hold the team accountable for all policies, including time and attendance and dress code
- Responsible for store opening and closing on time
- Accountable for store keys and alarm codes
- Assist with preventative maintenance
- Administer store action plans
- Support business growth through operations and local store marketing
- Oversee in-store administrative items as requested by the franchisee, such as educating, certifications, testing, and in-store innovations
